People of Otavalo

Sometimes I get tired of shopping and, as I am waiting for others I take pictures of the people. Some don't want their picture taken, so you have to be sensitive. When we buy something, I often ask permission after the transaction. These women are wearing typical outfits.



















And some pictures of children. The boy on the right is playing with a top.

I took a similar photo of a young girl, but she had the multiple strands of gold beads around her neck. Market does look a bit more commercial than it did when I was there in 1985. I have a bread dough nativity I use each Christmas as well as quite a few scarves. Thanks for the memories!
