Where in the world is Ecuador?
When Emily first moved to Ecuador in 1998 we weren't even entirely sure where it was. We were not even sure how it was spelled. We soon learned that Ecuador is in South America, south of Colombia, north of Peru on the Pacific Coast. It aligns with the east coast of the US and is in the same time zone, except when the US is on daylight savings time. The equator runs through the northern part of the country and gives the country its name, although there is no Q in Ecuador!
It is a small, but diverse country with beautiful beaches, spectacular mountains (the Andes) and lush rain forest and jungle. Our most recent trip in December 2005 - January 2006 was Ray and Terry's 5th and Andy's 2nd.
We will all be contributing our perspectives. That's us above. Starting at the top left, clockwise are: Ray, Terry, Andy and Emily.
